I feel weird starting a random topic right now, honestly. It feels like telling a joke at a funeral or something; like the timing is all wrong. But I've wanted to start this one for a while now and have been lazy so...

What are some of your biggest pet peeves? Here's a couple of mine:

1. People licking their fingers before turning papers. Why do people feel they have to do that to be able to separate pages? It's disgusting! Why would I want to hold a paper you just slathered your nasty saliva on? I can turn pages with my bare fingertips, so I'm sure you can, too. Try it! Stop being nasty!

2. At work, I hate it when people take stinky dumps in the single toilet bathrooms and then close the door after they finish. I get it. You're embarrassed because you left a hot smelly. But closing the door on your deed makes it worse! It prevents circulation! It's like grape juice in a bottle; your stinky poo air ferments in that closed, hot room and becomes something far more smelly. So then when I go in after you and open that door, I'm hit with a disastrous poison cloud of stench! We work in an animal shelter, people! Your poo is not worse that the combined poo clouds of 400+ dogs! Let it air out in the hallway. We have ventilation for that. It will dissipate much more quickly with the door open. No joke, I actually instructed people to leave the door open after they finished deucing once. But that was years ago and we have new staff now. I think I need to announce it again.

I'm really chill 99 percent of the time. Like I don't pay enough attention to have peeves...

But I can say for sure that the sound of someone eating cereal kills me. Slurping and chewing combo is ugh.

One other thing I can think of is when someone says "I seen it". No, you fucking saw it. This particular one I attribute to a local trashy dynasty... They're known for being violent recidivists who have a billion kids they don't take care of etc. And this is one of their trademark phrases. So when I hear it from another person I associate it with them and... Ugh. Haha.

Lmao.

A pet peeve of mine is people who walk too slow and go in the center of the sidewalk. It may be a consequence of growing in a capital city and now living in a somewhat slower and quieter place, but man... Some people seem to ignore the fact that they're not the only ones walking in the streets.

Or slow drivers on a highway. Slow drivers aren't the issue, I myself only go the speed limit or five miles above the speed limit, but those people that drive slow and they drive in the left lane right next to another vehicle who's already driving slow in the right lane on a highway. It's these people right here that cause traffic for everyone behind them.

Rubbernecking is another. There's an accident and traffic is slow as hell until after the accident despite the vehicles being way off the road. The people who go buy just have to slow down to 10mph to see what's going on. Those people need to mind their own business because there's about 1000 other people behind them who actually have somewhere to go. So many people do this and it's annoying.

Aside from the above let's just state bad drivers in general. The ones above might be a massive annoyance, but every time I drive, my safety is at risk because people don't drive carefully. People who can't wait to get to where they're going that they'll pull right out into traffic, people who cut you off switching lane, people who ride your bumper, etc.

My gas light was on and I had maybe 10 minutes before work. I pulled into a small (SMALL) corner gas station and a lady was right in front of me.

She got out, dug through her purse, read all the signage, opened the door to her gas cap, and proceeded to inspect some dirt or scratches near the cap.

This entire time my car is running on fumes and the clock is ticking for work. I try to be patient and not project my poor planning onto others, but she took 3 minutes and didn't even start to pump her gas.

I had to leave.

Most of my pet peeves are grammar-related. Things like saying "literally" when you mean "figuratively", saying "supposably" instead of "supposedly", saying "I did good" versus "I did well", etc. In the written word, the big one for me is people using "loose" when they mean "lose". If it were just a typo, like "teh" instead of "the", that would be fine, but adding that extra "O" makes it an entirely different word, people!

Outside of that, it's mostly just a general disdain for ignorant people. I don't expect everyone to know everything, but when you aren't even willing to learn and would prefer to just stumble through life with blinders on, I just can't be around you.

Oh! And people who don't care for / respect disc media; directly touching the bottom, putting discs down on tables, putting a disc in the wrong case, etc.

People not using turn signals. I absolutly hate it, it makes me yell at them very aggressively. To top it off as much as I hate it one time I simply forgot to do it and I got pulled over for it. Im pretty sure I was pulled over by who was with me but the official was the turn signal.

I cant really think of anything else but im sure there is something. Gaming pet peeves is when I see xbox people just hollering about native 4k, I just think but you aint got no games

People who do t watch their dogs. My neighbor has a little dog who runs over here and drives my dog crazy. I never let my dog just run freely to my neighbors. She stays with me or is on a runner when I can't watch her consistently. This little bastard goes wherever it likes.

Haha, it's Always something that annoyed me really. Like people wearing (white) socks in sandals my god who ever came up with that should get a smack to the head.

Here is another one that annoyed me for like 15+ years and that is lowerback tatoos on girls/woman especially the ones with a tribal, it's so offputting like it may be the cutest chick in the world if i see a lower back tatoo i'm going to pass, it wasen't cool back then and it ain't certainly cool now.
Lot's and lot's of woman in their 30ies en even 40 ies walk around with that shit on their back, probably if they could turn back the clock, i'm sure they would get rid off it.

I share this one.

I'm not driving any car at this point in my life, but as a person that walks or drive a bicycle almost everywhere, those drivers that don't use their lights make me fear for my life lmao It doesn't help that people in this city drive like crazy.

Here's a little known fact - during the earliest years of this trend - maybe even isolated to the first 6 months or so, the concept was a genderless one. So there are hundreds (if not thousands) of men who were at the very height of trendiness and fashion, who were early adopters of the idea.

Once in an extreme great while I'll see one and laugh.

I learned this from someone who was tattooing me (no, not a tramp stamp) who said the area of NY he worked in had a shop famous for popularizing it, and he claims to have done at least a handful of male tramp stamps back in the day haha.

The garbage I consume by no means makes me one with the credentials to criticize the culinary arts, but one thing I will not stand, is improper cheese steak preparation. You mix the meat, cheese and onions (and preferably sauce) together in a single mixed blend. DO NOT slap a a piece of solid cheese onto a roll, then cover it with meat, then onions and sauce on top!!! I demand ALL the contents of the sandwhich mixed in every bite.

I also hate the response "What happened?" when used as a replacement phrase for me to repeat myself to someone. This is a lesser peeve, because I have caught myself doing it a few times.
