Honestly, unless you live within a couple of hours of this event, it seems crazy to go, especially given than it's the weekend before Thanksgiving. I mean, an 8 hour drive for the possibility of buying a couple of cover variants and maybe some damaged stuff? What kind of gas mileage do you get? Are you going to have to pay for a hotel? I like LRG and their products, but I don't get the excitement about this event unless you really are a local.

I think this is only my 3rd post here ever, as I usually just lurk for release info. I will be attending the Pop-Up Shop and staying at the Best Western in Cary NC. I am from MA and normally visit the LRG Booth at PAX East each year, and have been ordering since 2016. There is a very good chance I'm rolling solo to this event, so maybe I'll see some of you there to talk games or grab lunch (or both). I'll be arriving Friday and leaving Sunday, and other than hitting the Pop-Up (possibly both days) I have no other plans while I am there. Wasn't sure how many members here are going, but figured this would be a great place to start in case I do end up going solo. My main mission is for Night Trap 32x, Bloodstained, and Bird King while I am there, and hopefully can get some other cool stuff to make the 11 hour trip more worth it (it's worth it just to get away either way for me, but you know what I mean).

Considering the effort everyone puts forth for LRG's releases, the Blind Boxes and semi-annual back stock sales, I just assumed more people than just me would drop everything and make the effort to attend in the hope of snagging a grail or just socializing with fellow fans and the LRG staff.

Sure, but those back stock items are all damaged. It's cool to go to gaming events and meet other fans and companies, but this just feels too limited and specific unlike an event like PAX or PRGE where there are many vendors, fans and companies to interact with. I don't mean to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but didn't you mention in your post a couple of weeks ago that you had some financial issues? This seems like a really bad use of time and money unless you are actually in the local area.

I would guess a huge majority of those going to attend are going purely in the hopes they can grab something rare and valuable for under market value. Expect to see a surge in LRG listings on ebay after this weekend.

Actually, what I am referring to is a comment made on Twitter saying that they will have a small selection of games from their entire back catalog that will be sneakily put on sale randomly throughout the weekend. In addition, since every LRG employee gets a free copy of every release (with the promise of never reselling them), Josh is allowing employees to contribute their unwanted personal copies under the agreement that they must be sold for the original sale price. All of this is separate from the damaged items they have stated will be available for below sale price.

As for my financial situation, I did indeed have a very tough and expensive year. However, I am recovering quite well and, combined with money I received from family for my birthday, I will be able to comfortably afford and easily justify making this trip. I'll be splitting gas costs with a friend who is accompanying me and my hotel is dirt cheap by my normal standards. As for the small scope of the event, as someone who has been following LRG since the beginning and has communicated with quite a few members of their team on social media, forum DM, and e-mail, I think it is a wonderful opportunity to thank them for their efforts. Plus, I can get their very first postcard signed and anything else I deem worthy of their marker scribbles. Finally, the director of River City Girls is going to be there. I am very much looking forward to getting his signature on that game.

Perhaps I am just easy to please, but Josh, Doug and the rest of the team have always been very open and willing to help me. In fact, when I first joined this forum, people were attacking me because they thought I was some forum troll who kept creating duplicate accounts to get around forum bans. Josh came to my defense immediately and assured everyone that I was not that person. I didn't really know him them, but he knew my e-mail well enough from the many orders I had made prior to joining the forum. So, aside from having a running dialogue with them for the past four years, they have proven themselves to be good people time and again.

As for your comment about seeing LRG stuff on ebay; flippers gonna flip. Between my collecting of video games, comic books, Funko POP! figures and convention exclusives, there are always going to be people who attempt to profit off of these industries. At least LRG does their best to prevent it by limited game sales, banning duplicate IPs and detecting patterns in customer account activity. There will never be a way to fully stop someone from reselling something, but at least LRG tries. You can't really expect/ask for more.

I wonder how or if they will try to police people buying multiple copies of certain games. I am going for only a few games I have had second thoughts on and have decided now would be a good time to try to pick them up since I do not live far. Two being Firewatch and possibly Salt and Sanctuary. But it will honestly make me angry if people walk away with multiple copies of a game and witness others going home empty handed. In a few of Josh Fairhurst's tweets he had mentioned about there being an area for people to trade games, but I wonder how they could prevent actual scalping and demand of money for a game? Or if they will require only trading of physicals games for other physical games.

I also saw Josh announce on his Twitter that 500 people have rsvp to coming but I wonder how many might change their mind last minute. I really do not live far I might consider going again Sunday a few hours before they close and see if there will be any reduction of prices for anything leftover.

Yes, I know, the phrase is just a euphemism, but I don't think, were I ever actually faced with such a situation, I would ever even consider peeing on a fire to put it out. I'm not one to favor censoring the blunt comments that users here sometimes make, and usually I stay silent on the matter because I understand that people get frustrated (I often do myself), but seriously, there should be a line that we don't cross. I know many here don't like a lot of the choices that LRG has made. There's a list, I know. But some of the things said are downright mean...evil, even? Saying you, in effect, wouldn't help Douglas if you saw him literally burning to death is pretty terrible, no matter how harshly blunt you are. And maybe what you said isn't literal. I mean, it's like I said, the phrase is just a euphemism. Maybe you wouldn't really ignore a dying man you didn't like very much. But it's still going too far to say those things, in my opinion.

Bringing up things LRG does that you don't like, pointing out problems with releases, sharing comments that seem to (or just plain do) contradict earlier statements they've made, all of that is fine. But making vitriolic personal attacks, that's crossing a line that we should be drawing for ourselves. It's OK to not like a person, that's an individual's prerogative, but sometimes, our words go too far.

It's good for all of us to remember that this is still LRG's forum, unofficial label and all. They left it open for us. Can we at least show them the respect of not attacking them personally here?

While you are here i was hoping that you could answer some questions, because i can not find the answers on twitter, and no one responds to my tweets:

1. Why was the PS4 standard copy of Blasphemous changed from $29.99 to $34.99 a couple of minutes after the sale, and after the newsletter was released stating that it was $29.99?

2. Does LRG know anything about the audio problem with Dragon Fantasy? The developers have told people to send them a DM but they do not accept DM's on twitter. Is there any way that LRG could relate any information they know on their own twitter account?

3.Is LRG still releasing VA-11 HA11-A for the Playstation 4? I have noticed that there is a CE for the game on PS4 that you are releasing soon, but after reading the tweet it seems as though there is no game in the CE and i have not heard anything about your PS4 release since the Vita release was posted?
