Who has a Sega Genesis? The answer is not me, but who has beaten Sonic The Hedgehog 3 a lot of times? The answer is me neither, as well.

But I think most people will agree that it was and is a great game, I don't wanna retell again the story of the development or other things, that is meat for the most generic youtubers from interweb.

Sonic The Hedgehog is my favorite franchise from all times and Sonic is my favorite character from everything as well, my most heartwarming story from the game happened like 7 years ago when I was an idiot thief, while I was recovering from my depression and sins I spent a lot of time playing again my cliche childhood game that was Sonic 3, I spent hours and hours beating and beating again the game I even learnt how to get quckly the chaos emeralds and beat the game in fast forward, even if I was in my job or I was lying in bed depressed, I was really happy playing Sonic 3 and burning hours thinking in more healthy things than the normal depressive junk.

The years have passed and at least I am not a thief anymore, I am still an idiot and I am closest to die, but I am happier now knowing that I am a better man now, besides Sonic I also love other things, like the Pizza that I eat a lot and will kill me someday, and I want to be best Konami fan in the world because I love Konami the same or almost like I love Sonic.

Sometimes I come back to play Sonic 3 again and one of my speedrunner friends wants to be the most fastest player of the game in the world, it is always cool to come back and play again this jewel, the people come and leaves, the food is baked and eaten, the videogame community were cool and not it is worst than death, but Sonic 3, Sonic 3 is still a master piece from videogames.

If someone wants to share their comments or stories with this great game, go forth, I will be very happy reading them.

Also sorry for the honesty in this post, I guess I am not ashamed of talk about my past anymore.

Viva la Pizza.
Viva Konami.
Viva Sonic the Hedgehog.
and viva you.

Happy 25Th Sonic The Hedgehog 3!!

My favorite is Sonic 2, but one can't deny that 3 is a great game. The thing is that I never played it back in the day. My first experiences with the game were like 10 years ago (man, time flies!) when I purchased a copy.

If you learned from the mistakes of your past, and recognize them for the bad they were, you're on the right track. You don't have to stay ashamed. Forgiveness is out there, my friend.

Sonic 3 was a great game indeed! I remember when they found Game Genie codes to let you play as Knuckles, and everyone speculated that there had to be a super secret code to unlock him in the game. Later, Sonic & Knuckles was released, and the genius behind Sega's giant game that was originally intended to be a complete Sonic 3 experience was revealed. Sonic 3 was so grand that they HAD to split it into 2 games. Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges just weren't big enough to contain it!

- Answering to @best1989

Don't worry, I know that you are 47 years but is it never late for play and enjoy a great game as Sonic 3, I need to buy other copy, hopefully soon.

Thank you for the comment.

I want to be a good human being, but I am not a saint, I am usually just a dude that wants to make a fast and good buck but with good and the most fair possible practices, and I eat a lot of pizza.

Sonic 3 is a great game for sure, hopefully new children will play it and learn from one of the best games ever.

Thank you for the comment.

So growing up, me and my brother had a SNES but we didn't own a Genesis. It was kind of odd growing up in my neighorhood for me because there were tons of kids around my brother's age (who is 7 years older than me), but no one my own age, though there was one kid a few years younger than me who i hung out with all the time. He owned a Genesis, so it was super cool because he'd get to play SNES games at my house and I'd get to play Genesis games at his house and we lived only like a two minute bike ride away from each other lol.

He bought each Sonic game every time a new one came out and we played them a ton. The cool thing about Sonic 2 was that we could actually play two-player mode with one playing as Sonic and the other playing as Tails. We did the split-screen two player mode a lot, but also did the main game a ton too and would always mess around on Casino Night Zone with the pinball/slot machine sections lol. I don't remember if we ever actually beat the game with all of the chaos emeralds or not, i know the first few chaos emerald stages were pretty easy but the later ones one of us would always get wrecked by the bombs and we'd lose too many rings get teh emerald.

Sonic 3 was awesome but while Sonci 2 gave us trouble, Sonic 3 was pretty easy for us. Maybe we had just gotten really good at Sonic from playing the first two games so much, but Sonic 3 just seemed so much easier than the first two. The bonus stages didn't require keeping a certain number of rings, rather we just had to find the giant ring to enter a bonus stage and there seemed to be a ton of them. The extra powerups were really cool but also made the game easier than before. But the stages were so much fun and I remember really liking how each stage led to the next stage so it was what like one big connected world. And of course the introduction of a new "villain" in Knuckles. I think every time we played the game we would have Super Sonic by the 3rd world (i forget what it is but there's lots of steep hills and Greek looking pillars). Also, i still remember being hyped for the game when Sonic 3 was featured in either a Burger King of cereal commercial on tv, i forget what it was.

Sonic and Knuckles came out shortly after, the idea of playing as a new character was really cool, especially being able to use him in earlier Sonic games, but as for Sonic and Knuckles itself, the game was decent, but the stages sucked! That was kind of the beginning of the end of Sonic being good for me. The first three Sonic games i still play once in a while, those rotating trippy chaos emerald rooms in Sonic 1 still make me feel like i'm going to have a panic attack lol and these games are still as much fun to play today as back then. I still have to play Sonic Mania but it's amazing how the series went from being awesome to being nigh unplayable for like 20 straight years.
If a game doesn't run at 60fps then it isn't worth playing.

As someone who had a Genesis as a kid... never owned a sonic game until 2001. Even then, only the first two. I also played a bit of SnK on sega channel as a kid, rented 3D blast for a weekend and played Sonic 2 over someone's house. Didn't play Sonic 3 until years later on emulator.

Ultimately Genesis wasn't "Sonic" for me as a kid so the old school charm of the series never really meant much for me (which is why I had more interest in Sonic Forces than Mania.) For me, Genesis was Mercs, Gain Ground, Sub-Terrania, and Maximum Carnage (I know that one was multiplat but I had the Genesis version).

I'll give props where props are due, the Genesis Sonic games were good. I just have no real love for them. The Sonic game I played the most was Sonic Battle, actually.
