Saturday Morning RPG has been getting a lot of coverage! Check out what people are saying about the game!

ZTGD Review

9/10editorchoice

”For $6, Saturday Morning RPG is a steal for anyone who grew up with 80′s cartoons. The references will keep you smiling and the interesting combat will keep you playing. I can’t suggest it enough.”

Hardcore Gamer
8/10
“If you merely existed in the eighties, or have experienced things from that time, you’ll likely appreciate most every single bit of this love-letter to the era.”

iFanzine Review
4.5/5

“JRPGs have traditionally divorced the player from gameplay once commands are issued in a menu, but SMRPG keeps the player involved at all times through tap-activated defense, criticals, and special attack minigames. It says a lot that SMRPG is more enjoyable with just one character than most JRPGs are with three to six!”
“The sprites-on-3D style gives SMRPG a distinct visual flair, and it’s impossible to come away from this one without an appreciation for Vince DiCola’s and Kenny Meriedeth’s talent for scoring videogames.”

Touch Arcade Review
4/5

Touch Arcade Forums Game of the Week
“Saturday Morning RPG is as close to a physical manifestation of my childhood as I am going to find, without a truckload of Pixiesticks.”

App Spy Review
4/5

“Like any great RPG, aside from its story, the gameplay is what really keeps you coming back for more and this is no exception as Marty relies on his magic notebook to dish out damage.”

Start Select Review
9.5/10
“Overall, SMRPG offers a rich, deep RPG experience. What’s even more impressive is that it does so on a mobile platform. Saturday Morning RPG is one of the most ambitious games I’ve played in a long time, handheld or otherwise, and it’s unbelievably well done.”

Gamezebo Review
4.5/5

“Finding all of the references is certain to be a favorite talking point for gamers too. Mighty Rabbit did an excellent job working in tributes to all kinds of intellectual properties from the 80s. It’s a satirical take, for sure, but one that has players laughing along with their childhood memories, not at them.”

Pocket Gamer Review
9/10

“A heart-felt love letter to Japanese role-playing games and ’80s popular culture, Saturday Morning RPG is likely to prove irresistible to anyone over the age of 30.”
“This incredible degree of fan-service for ’80s kids is likely to cause many to fall in love with the game instantly, but once the novelty has worn off the engaging RPG gameplay thankfully picks up the slack.”
“Thanks to its zany humour, gripping battle system, and seemingly endless collection of ’80s tributes, Saturday Morning RPG is one of the most unusual experiences you’ll see on iOS in 2012.”

App Safari Review
4/5

“The tongue-in-cheek and nostalgic humor will keep you pining for your ever-fading youth, while the intricate battle system will leave you impressed with the developers, a fantastic team effort by Mighty Rabbit and Joystick Labs”

Screw Attack – Check out Saturday Morning RPG!
“This is seriously the coolest RPG that you need to pay attention to!”
“It will completely change your mind about mobile gaming as a platform.”

USA Today – Portable Picks: ‘Saturday Morning RPG’
“The combat feels real good. Attacks are easy to execute, and the game provides plenty of power-ups and magic spells to mix up the action.”

Kotaku – Saturday Morning RPG Is Chock Full Of Cartoon Goodness And 80s References
“Pop culture references are the hook in Saturday Morning RPG, but what might be most impressive is its soundtrack, a lovely set of tunes composed by Transformers fan cult hero Vince DiCola and collaborator Kenny Meriedeth. This is not a game you’ll want to play on mute. But it’s a game you’ll want to play.”
